Arómatísk leysiefni

Arómatískt kolvatnsefni inniheldur bensenhring og fást þegar jarðolía eða koltjara er eimuð. Algeng arómatísk leysiefni eru tólúen, xýlen, fenól, bensen, stýren, díetýlbensen, etýlbensen. Arómatísk leysiefni eru notuð sem grunnefni í málningaruppleysi og sum hreinsiefni fyrir vélar. Bensenhringja samsetning þessara leysiefna gerir þau heilsupillandi og í sumum tilfellum eru þau krabbameinsvaldandi.
